Meet the experienced and friendly doctor and staff who make Tara N. Van De Wyngaerde, O.D., P.C. a proud provider of vision care products and services in Illinois.
Dr. Tara acquired the practice of Dr. P. Daniel Doyle in July 2007. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2007 from the Illinois College of Optometry, where she graduated with honors. She also received a Bachelor's degree in Science of Visual Science.
During her clinical training, Dr. Tara managed patients at the Indiana Crown Point Veterans Administration with cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic, and hypertensive eye disease. While in Englewood, Colorado, she worked with binocular vision dysfunction patients and performed vision therapy.
During her time at the Illinois College of Optometry, Dr. Tara managed emergency cases in the Advanced Care department, performed exams on patients with low vision needs, and saw post-op cataract and retinal surgery patients. Dr. Tara also co-managed LASIK, cataract surgery, and penetrating keratoplasty patients at Chicago Cornea Consultants.
Dr. Tara has extensive experience in fitting bifocal contact lenses, co-managing surgery patients, managing ocular disease, including glaucoma and macular degeneration, and treating ocular infections. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Illinois Optometric Association.
Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and kids, cheering them on in all of their activities. Her goal has always been simple: to provide compassionate, personalized eye care to the people and families who make this small town feel like home.
